Lock and Load the Source Code
If you put two facts together, you might wonder why your last discovery request did not include source code.
First, software drives most things that drive us (like cars and computers) and monitor us (like breathalyzer tests and radar). Second, software is not picture perfect. It goes through cycles of bugs and patches which, in turn, may cause cyclical conflicts with other programs running in the same space and time or operating on the same machine or interdependent parts to the same machine. Endpoint, software just might be the source of your client's problem. Of course, we can't hold a programmer liable for bad software -- at least not until we can say it is picture perfect. But examining the source code may be necessary if your client's issues flowed from a software driven machine.
